For Parents
Choosing child care is one of the most important decisions families make, but all too often they must rely on word-of-mouth.
Child care resource and referral organizations (R&Rs), located throughout the country, help parents take the guesswork out of choosing care – arming them with referrals and information about the elements of quality care and state licensing requirements, as well as the availability of child care subsidies.
And because the child care needs of every family vary, resource and referral counselors provide guidance by phone, in person, and in other ways, such as the Internet, that are tailored to each individual family rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.
Earned Income Tax Credit Information for the 2009 Tax Year The California Child Care Resource and Referral Network and Parent Voices are working together with the National Women’s Law Center to promote tax credits for working families. These tax credits can provide tremendous benefits to working families by helping them to make ends meet. Often times work is not enough to lift some families out of poverty. The federal tax refunds, such as the federal Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credit, help working families pay for housing, food, eduacation, debt reduction and the opportunity to save and increase their assets. It helps lift children and families out of poverty and puts money back into our local economy. For more information you can download these flyers:
