Public Policy
Working toward the Network's mission of achieving a quality child care system which meets the needs of all children and families requires relentless work at the local, state, and national level.
The Network accomplishes this work through staff monitoring of state and federal policy issues; dissemination of the information and policy alerts to the local R&Rs; discussions of the major policy issues at monthly regional and annual R&R meetings; and representation of the Network's positions and agenda at appropriate state and national hearings, forums and conferences.
The most unique feature of the Network's policy work is its ability to hear, document, and communicate the impact of national and state policies on child care within local communities throughout the state, through the local resource and referral agencies. This allows the Network to bring a comprehensive, reality-based position to policy makers of all political persuasions, representing all geographical areas of the state.
