TrustLine
California's Background Check for In-Home Child Care

Two babies and their provider

TrustLine is a database of license-exempt child care providers (nannies and baby-sitters) who have cleared a criminal history background check in California.

It's the only authorized screening program of in-home caregivers in the state with access to fingerprint records at the California Department of Justice and the FBI. That's what makes TrustLine unique. TrustLine also checks the California Child Abuse Central Index for any substantiated child abuse reports. TrustLIne is easy to use and effective. For all these reasons, TrustLine is endorsed by the California Academy of Pediatrics.

The TrustLine program is administered by the California Department of Social Services and the California Child Care Resource & Referral Network. To check if a provider is registered with TrustLine, call 1.800.822.8490. After all, you can never do too much to see that your children are safe.
