2005 Workforce Study
2005 California Early Care and Education Statewide Workforce Study
The California Early Care and Education Statewide Workforce Study, a collaboration between CSCCE and the California Child Care Resource and Referral Network, funded by First 5 California, has completed telephone surveys with a randomly selected sample of 1,800 licensed child care center directors and 1,800 licensed family child care home providers in four regions throughout California. The survey identfied the number of home-based and center-based staff working in licensed child care positions; the educational qualifications of this workforce, analyzed by age, languages spoken, and ethnic background; and wages and tenure of those working in licensed facilities.
