California is one step closer to ensuring the basic health and safety of all children in licensed child care facilities, by increasing the frequency of unannounced licensing visits by the State Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division. Over one million children are cared for in licensed child care setting across California. They need your support to get this important bill passed!
Last week the Senate Appropriations Committee voted AB 74 (Calderon)– Community Care Facilities: Annual Unannounced Visits, off of the Suspense File in a 7-0 vote. If passed, AB 74 will require annual comprehensive visits by licensed program analysts on all community care facilities. The bill will now head to the Senate for a full floor vote.
